2Do It Yourself2Simple's 2Do It Yourself, Crick's Write Online and Gemin-i's Rafi.ki are classic software ICT products that were among the award winners at the Education Show in Birmingham last week (March 26-28, full list below).

Teachers and schools were also in the limelight. Wendy Sharp, of Alfreton Grange Arts College, Derbyshire, won the Leadership in Education category, while Rivington and Blackrod High School, Bolton, was named Education Establishment of the Year.

“The Educational Resource Awards recognise what is of real value to teaching professionals – resources that are practical, creative and supportive of their needs, as well as services and individuals that truly make a difference," says Ray Barker, director of the British Educational Suppliers Association (Besa) which organised the awards  (with Affinity Media). "Educationalists can rest assured that each winner demonstrates excellence within the sector.”

He was happy to point out that 14 of the 15 winners were members of Besa: "This demonstrates that BESA members are developing innovative resources that really help to support teachers, and provide good value-for-money for schools."
