Twittering is in but the Victorians and the Second World War could be curriculum history for primary school pupils. A draft of the Rose review of England's new primary school curriculum seen by the Guardian newspaper in advance of next month's publication, indicates that children will spend less time studying history and more on mastering how to use internet sites like Twitter and Wikipedia.
The article says the draft review also proposes that schools update the skills they support so that children become familiar with blogging and podcasts and fluent in handwriting as well as keyboard skills and spellcheckers.
